•Easily miscible with water
•Stable to hard water salts and weak acids and weak alkalis
•Provides, especially to synthetic materials, a pleasantly full and soft touch
•Reduces wrinkles in items for drying on hangers or in clothes dryers
•Application preferably by foulard, or also application in foam and by exhaust processes.
•Fabrics must be cured above 130°C after drying to complete crosslinking and fix the product to the fiber. Curing conditions: 130 – 180°C for 3min.
•Normally 20 to 40g/L of the product are used in finishing preparations together with other products, depending on the process in which it is applied.
Reduction of formaldehyde content using resins in cellulosic fibers
Cellulosic materials and blends of cellulosics with synthetics are often given a resin finish, usually synthetic resins such as DMDHEU (dimethylol- dihydroxyethylene urea), DMU (dimethylol-urea), DMEU (dimethylol-ethylene-urea) etc. To reduce the formaldehyde content, Athon TX 310 Pro-Elastic can be used to replace up to half of the synthetic resin without any change in the mechanical and technical properties of the fabrics.
Athon TX 310 Pro-Elastic is self-crosslinking, without the need for a catalyst like synthetic resins. If used in combination with synthetic resins, these must be cross-linked with weak catalysts such as
magnesium chloride or aminohydrochloride, as the product may react with strong catalysts such as nitrate or zinc chloride.
Improved abrasion resistance
The film formed on the fiber surface improves abrasion resistance. As the film is permanent, the improved abrasion resistance is maintained even after repeated washing, for example on cotton.
Reduction in pilling
Athon TX 310 Pro-Elastic binds fibers together, preventing mechanical migration of individual fibers to the fabric surface and decreasing pilling.
Improved friction resistance (rub fastness)
The improvement in friction resistance obtained with this product depends on the dye class, fiber type, fabric structure, etc. Preliminary tests must be carried out in the laboratory.
Bonding of Fibers to Nonwovens
An addition of approximately 1% solids forms bridges between fibers. Athon TX 310 Pro-Elastic is an
excellent additive for gluing preparations used in the production of nonwovens and felt. Experience shows that adding the product gives an even softer and more flexible feel. The optimal addition must be established in each case individually.
Attention:
Athon TX 310 Pro-Elastic is amphoteric – when applying it in combination with other products, especially cationic, the stability of the preparation must always be checked beforehand. Preparations containing Athon TX 310 Pro-Elastic must be tested in the laboratory to ensure that they do not cause a shade shift under the specific application conditions. There is usually a slight change in shade, but it can be more pronounced with certain dyes. In exceptional circumstances, staining of treated fabrics may occur.
Athon TX 280 Anti-Yellowing is a blend of non-ionic surfactants.
•Completely miscible with cold water •High stability
•Prevents or reduces yellowing in polyester, polyamide and polyamide/elastane fabrics during heat treatments
•Prevents yellowing of the fiber and impurities, such as oils
•Guarantees greater reproducibility of the dyeing, with excellent color yield
•Very useful in directly heated stent equipment, where the formation of NOx gases is a common problem
•Can be used on textiles that need to comply with Ecolabel and Oeko-Tex 100 standards
Athon TX 280 Anti-Yellowing prevents the oxidation of amino terminal groups of the polyamide during heat treatment, which allows the dyeing process to obtain better yields and reproducibility.
Especially recommended for foulard application, best
Results are obtained by applying Athon TX 280 Anti-Yellowing just before the heat treatment. After treatment the fabric can be washed if necessary. Reductive or fluorescent bleaching can be performed in conjunction with washing. Fabrics can be dyed in the usual way.
Usage suggestion:
10 to 30 g/L of Athon TX 280 Anti-Yellowing, with pH adjusted to 5 to 6 with citric acid and approximate pick-up of 50 to 75%. If necessary, intermediate drying at 100°C and then heat treatment at 180 to 200°C. This is followed by scouring, dyeing or optical bleaching treatments.

•Stable to hard water salts, alkalis, acids, sodium chloride up to 80g/L and sodium sulfate up to 80g/L
• Prevents the formation of creases in motion in natural and man-made fibers and their blends during wet finishing of rope-shaped fabrics and knits
•Can be applied in all dyeing units commonly used in the textile industry, including jet units
•Can be diluted/cold emulsified; form stable stock solutions
Athon TX 230 Anti-Wrinkle is used for cellulosic fibers, wool, acrylics, polyamides, polyesters and blends of these fibers. Ideal use in pre- treatment, dyeing and post-treatment, with low foaming, good stability to alkali and electrolytes. It is suitable for jet application, being stable at temperatures up to 135°C. It can be emulsified by stirring in water (up to a maximum of 35°C). This initially causes creaming, but the product later emulsifies with continued stirring.
The recommended amount of use ranges from 0.1 to 0.3 g/L, but higher concentrations can be used if necessary. No adverse effects were observed in products dyed or treated with optical brightener, not soiling the dyed items. If an anti-foaming agent is required, use Athon FB 900 Antifoam (Athon silicone-free anti-foam).
