Athon FB 520 Antifoam is a silicone based antifoaming emulsion containing silica and additives. It can be used in a wide range of applications, being resistant to alkalis and acids and is recommended for processes under extreme pH conditions.
Athon FB 520 Antifoam is a homogeneous, low viscosity emulsion. It is effective even at very low levels, being chemically inert to the foaming medium. Excellent foam breaking as well as good residual action.
The versatility and ease of handling of Athon FB 520 Antifoam allow its use in the most varied applications. It is an excellent breaking agent of foam generated in formulations containing surfactants which are used in the most diverse areas such as agrochemicals, household cleaning products, Autocare, petrochemical industry, or where high performance in extremes of temperature, pH or resistance to saline or surfactant solutions is required. Typical levels between 0.1% and 2.0% are recommended although the ideal level should be established by practical tests. Use recommendations:
It is recommended to dilute Athon AM 725 Microemulsion using common cold water, at a ratio of 1:5 to 1:8.
Procedure:
•Add half the desired amount of water.
•Add Athon AM 725 Microemulsion while stirring for 30 minutes.
•Keep stirring and add the other half of total amount of water.
•Keep stirring for another 10 minutes.
The dilution time can be reduced (10 – 15 minutes) by gently heating the initial mixture to 40-50°C.
Application by foulard (paddling):
5 to 10 g/L based on pure Athon AM 725 Microemulsion, or 30 – 60g/L based on a 1:6 dilution of the product in water.
Maintain pH at 5.5 – 6.5 using acetic acid.
Application by exhaustion:

Reduction of formaldehyde content using resins in cellulosic fibers

Athon AM 220 Fluid is a composition containing functionalized silicone fluid, used as lubricating and release agent in industrial processes.
•Good spreading

•Stable on storage, even when diluted
Athon AM 220 Fluid is used in common industrial release processes, replacing common silicone fluids for better performance and efficiency. It can be used neat or diluted with solvents to the desired concentration. Suitable solvents include: chlorinated, aliphatic (hexane, turpentine) and aromatic (xylene and toluene) solvents. Athon AM 220 Fluid is also recommended for thread lubrication, providing high process performance.
